Building in Christmas Valley
Service area · Christmas Valley
Up toward Echo Summit
Christmas Valley runs along the Upper Truckee River at the south end of Meyers, the highest and coldest pocket of the South Shore we build in.
Elevation here climbs toward Echo Summit, so the ground snow load is among the heaviest in the basin and roof design, structure, and snow shed all have to answer for it. We engineer to the local design number, not a generic mountain spec, because a roof that works at lake level is not the roof this valley needs.
These were ground-up custom homes engineered for the conditions and run start to finish by one crew. Building in a valley this demanding is exactly where our depth on the South Shore pays off, in knowing what the snow and the cold will do to a house before it is drawn.
