Why the South Shore

The mountain decides what gets built.

Snow load, fire code, and TRPA make every Tahoe build harder than the same build at sea level.

A Tahoe build is not a sea-level build with a steeper roof. It answers to defensible-space rules, snow load, TRPA’s Best Management Practices, BMP coverage, fire-resistant assemblies, and short framing windows between the thaw and the first storm.

G&S builds new homes, large remodels, and demolition and rebuild. The work happens on site, with the inspectors, the engineers, and the conditions the basin sets. The trade Richard passed down meets the place Garrick chose to bring it.
